Dental Implants

Missing a tooth -- or multiple teeth -- can have a negative effect on your self-esteem. Many people are embarrassed to smile for photographs, or feel self-conscious about speaking or eating in public. Favourite foods may even be off-limits, because it causes pain or discomfort to eat them.

Missing teeth can also pose a health risk. The gaps become a prime spot for tooth decay, and the surrounding teeth will shift position in an attempt to fill the gap -- causing your jawbone to break down. This may change the appearance of your face, causing you to look older.

If you’re missing a tooth -- or multiple teeth -- our team can use dental implants to help restore your smile.

A dental implant is a small titanium screw that functions exactly like a natural tooth root. The implant is placed into your jawbone for a long-lasting, secure restoration. We then attach a custom CEREC crown to your implant, giving you the look of a real tooth.

We can also use dental Implants to secure a denture, keeping it from shifting and moving in your mouth. Contact us today to learn more about the ease and comfort of dental implants.

How many appointments are required in order to get a dental implant(s)?

Typically, it requires one visit to take impressions, so that our lab can begin making your custom crowns. We also brief you about what to expect during the procedure. On the second visit, we secure the implants into your jawbone. It takes time for the implants to fully integrate into the bone, so the third visit takes place several months later. During that third visit, we attach your final crowns and reveal your new smile.

Does my dental insurance cover dental implants?

It depends on your coverage. We would be happy to help you understand your available coverage, so please ask us at your next appointment.

Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Almost anyone missing a tooth (or multiple teeth) is a candidate for dental implants. The deciding factor is if you have enough bone to support an implant. Book a consultation with us to see if you're a candidate.
